“should I dress my age?”
dear apricot,
Do you believe in “dressing for your age?” I ask because I’ll be 38 soon, but I still look pretty much like I looked at 28. OK, maybe a little more wrinkled. :) But definitely the same body. As the big 40 is looming, I wonder if I need to gradually adjust what I wear to my age…? Or can I keep dressing the same way I dressed in my late twenties?

Hello Vered!
You asked if I believe in dressing your age, & I have to say that it depends on the person. While I don’t think anyone should hold themselves back from embracing the latest fashions for something as petty as age, I do think a woman’s body type plays a huge factor in the kind of styles she chooses to wear. If her body no longer resembles that of a twenty-something, yet she’s still trying to incorporate that into her style, then I think the answer is obvious: she needs to dress her age. Or, rather, she needs to dress according to her body type. It’s just common sense, to me.
However, my answer to you is going to be slightly biased, being that I’ve seen pictures of you before. I think you look absolutely fabulous, & find it very hard to believe that you are nearing 40. So in that case… No, I do not think you should “dress your age.” Quite frankly, I think it would do you a bit of injustice to deprive yourself from enjoying clothing that makes you look great! What is age, but a number, anyway? If you’ve got it, flaunt it, I say. You should only begin to worry when your choices of clothing make you look OLDER than what you are. And we wouldn’t want that.
Have fun!
— apricot.
