Clothes are clothes. We only think it's weird that a 50 year old is wearing skinny jeans and heels because that's what all the 20 year olds wear not because skinny jeans and heels in and of themselves say "20 years Old" If that 50 year old were to use her imagination and wear the skinny jeams and heels in a different way she would look fine. Provided she had the body type to wear them in the first place.

I am almost 50 and granted I don't look like most people my age - or so I am told - and I have worn almost every trend there is for the past 20 years. But I always put a twist on it so I don't seem like I'm copying the youngsters. I think it's important to look like you live in the current decade because nothing is more sad or ageing than looking as if you're in a time warp.

BTW I don't wear skinny jeans they look weird unless you have pencils for legs. But I do wear straight legs and boot cuts. I also avoid buying all my clothes from the old lady stores. Chicos and Coldwater Creek are for 60 year olds I think. And the styles never change.
