My mum did the same thing before I moved overseas, well actually both parents went a bit crazy, trying to squeeze every last possible moments and getting angry at me when I wanted to spend time with my friends. It's only because she will miss you, and perhaps she isn't so good at dealing with these feelings as they are probably very new! I'm sure when they decided to become parents they never thought their child would ever 'leave' them/her. A lot of mothers have a difficult time letting go of being a mother and becoming a friend again. Perhaps try to discuss that with her, and how she's feeling about you leaving? She may not even be aware that she's acting badly/strangely and saying something to her (gently) may give her some new insights.

Good luck with the OS move too!
