I had a situation similar to yours and I am sorry you are going thru it.
However, mine situation was that my father passed away and within weeks my mother had a boyfriend who she met a week after my dad passed…the boyfriend kept asking if my father left any life insurance “so that my mother would be okay”, etc…i tried to talk to my mom about my concerns- out of fear because there are “widow pirates” out there and I believed him to be one.

This a very sevsitive situation you are in…i tried being there for my mom to oversee what she was in for with this guy…the boyfriend recognized my concern and told my mom that he was “not comfortable” around me or my kids and that he wouldnt be coming around if we were there. She explained this to me and asked me not to come around anymore…she told me I was causing her boyfriend to “not want to be with her”…she just couldnt see what was going on.
She started not returning my calls. In short, I have not had any contact with my mom in almost 10 years.

Hang on to your mom, Anonymous, the best you can. If you don’t like the boyfriend and/or think he’s up to no good…never let HER see it and if all else fails: FAKE IT like you like him. Otherwise she may shut you out of her life.

I worry everyday about my mother. I send a Christmas card every year, flowers on mother’s day and her birthday BUT they are always sent back or not accepted.

This truely breaks my heart everyday.
First my dad was taken from me and then my mom was taken from me. and one of them could have been prevented.

Good luck to you and remember, you have only one mom, whether she makes good decisions or not; she’s still your mom.
